60-tube installation in Williamstown, MA
Heliocentrix installed this Thermomax evacuated tube solar hot water system during the summer of 2006 on the south-facing roof a residential addition in Williamstown, MA. The 60-tube array is tilted at a high angle (57 degrees) to maximize heat gain during the spring and fall. From July until mid-September the system provided all of the domestic hot water for a family of five without any backup heating. Surplus heat from the solar storage may, in the future, be circulated through the house's radiant floor heating system.
